International Conference on Agile Development XP2015 Lands in Finland
May 21, 2015, 10:13 AM
After nine years’ hiatus, the XP2015 agile software development conference is again held in Finland. Over 350 experts in software development and agile methods are expected to take part in next week’s international event. The participants come from both academic and business domains.
Nitor is among the sponsors of this weeklong event, and several of our employees can be seen on stage at the conference.
“In the annual XP conferences one can really sense that the future lies in agile methods. Every year there is more and more interest, and it is clear that the old methods will soon belong in a museum. If a company embraces agility in everything it does, it is going to be successful,” says Maarit Laanti from Nitor, who was also one of the keynote speakers in last years’ XP event in Rome.
The internationally renowned author and agile thought leader Linda Rising from Arizona State University is among this year’s keynote speakers. Brian Fitzgerald, who started in software development before turning to academia, will speak about new directions in software industry.
Besides Maarit Laanti, speakers from Nitor include Pasi Niemi and Mika Majakorpi, who’ll take on the DevOps stage to present Willow - the toolset for continuous delivery, monitoring, and scaling. In addition, Samuli Kiviniemi will shed some light on the intricacies of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) model, and Janne Sinivirta will speak about pragmatic architecture.
